Chris Komatsu was born and raised a local boy. He lived on Lāna‘i until the age of 5. Chris' father, Mike, pastored LBC from 1985-97. Chris spent the rest of his upbringing on Maui.
Chris attended Bible college in Louisville, KY at Boyce College of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. It was there that he met his wonderful wife, Shawna. Chris and Shawna have been joyously married since 2015. They have two beautiful girls, Mele (4) and Chava (2).
Pastor Chris heeded the call of God and LBC toward pastoral ministry in March 2022. He serves as the Lead Elder/Pastor of LBC. It is Pastor Chris' joy to carry on the work he first saw his father give himself to, loving the people of Lāna‘i and the members of Lāna‘i Baptist Church.
Sean Olivia was born and raised on Lāna‘i. In every sense of the phrase, he is a Lāna‘i boy. Sean and Lucy have been married for 28 years and have three children, Shonacee, Kenson, and Christian. They moved back to Lāna‘i in 2014 after stints in Oahu and Florida. They are also parents to a diverse and precious array of members of the animal kingdom (go visit them).
Pastor Sean heeded the call of God and LBC toward pastoral ministry in March 2018. He is a servant-hearted leader and overflows with humility. He serves as an Elder alongside Pastor Chris. Although he works occupationally outside of the church walls, it is Pastor Sean's joyous endeavor to shepherd the flock of God at Lāna‘i Baptist Church.
LĀNA‘I BAPTIST CHURCH
We are located on the beautiful island of Lāna‘i in Hawai'i. LBC is in association with the Southern Baptist Convention, Hawai'i Pacific Baptist Convention, and the Maui County Baptist Association.
Lāna‘i Baptist Church is a reflection of Lāna‘i itself; small, diverse, and welcoming. We gather together to worship the Lord through praying earnestly, reading the Scriptures, singing songs of praise, sitting under the preached word, celebrating the Lord's Supper and baptism, and the fellowship of the saints. There is a richness and a beauty to gathering together with God's people that cannot be experienced by merely watching a sermon at home alone. So hele mai and come join us!
